Honey Counseling and Consulting LLC

Jessica is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern and specializes in working with children (age 5+), adolescents/teens, families, couples, and adults experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, family and relationship issues, and trauma.

Jessica works with her clients to not only address their presenting concerns, but to heal their deep-rooted wounds for long lasting health and resolution. She understands and works closely with each client to develop an individualized treatment plan to best meet their short- and long-term needs.

Jessica received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Alabama and went on to obtain a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Rollins College.

Jessica completed her clinical internship by working in the emergency placement shelter at the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home, a group home for children within the foster care system. Upon graduating from Rollins College, Jessica began her professional career working at Kids House of Seminole, a Children’s Advocacy Center dedicated to preventing child abuse and helping child abuse survivors and families heal. She expanded her therapeutic expertise to work intensively with children (3-18 years old) and non-offending caregivers who have experienced early trauma and abuse, attachment injury, neglect, and complex clinical presentations. Jessica has utilized a multitude of clinical modalities to facilitate healing through EMDR, play therapy, sand tray therapy, and expressive arts. Jessica learned that caregivers play a major role in helping their children heal and she has led psychoeducational groups for caregivers by teaching about trauma education and a modified Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) to further facilitate long lasting growth.

Jessica is recently married and currently lives with her husband and dog. When she is not working, she enjoys taking her dog for walks, yoga, watching college football, cooking at home, traveling, and relaxing on the beach.
